Why is Nick the Narrator?
Because he distances himself away from the characters and the story it self. He is on the side lines while the story goes on
What kind of relationship exists between NIck and the Buchanans?
It is superfcial and their relationship is very thin one small tenson will cause it to break
Why does daisy always speak in such exaggerated phrases
By overdoing her words she saves words and also she can get attention if she does it in the middle of a crowd.
What is the significance of toms book he is reading
it says that tom is races and the book explains how white people are the supior race and they must watch over the other races to maintain its status in the world this makes tom look like a bad person
Why does daisy hope her child will be a beautiful fool
because daisy does not have brains and with that she wants her child to be beutiful so she can get that man of her dreams and the man must have the brain and the money to support her child.

Why is the catalog of gatsby guest included
Worthless gust there signifgance the people just show up to gatsby party and continue to come just for the heck of it.
Why does Gatsby call Nick old sport
This is a sign of gatsby shady past and he also wants to be treated in a sport like manner.
Why does wolfsheim mourn the passing of the metrople
He wants to return to the past and relive it but gatsby does not want to recapture it
What is ironic about gatsby appaisal of jordan
He admires her honsty even though she does not have any honesty what so ever she lies and cheats in just about everything she does.
What is the significant in Jordans remark that daisy voice has amorous tinge
This is the sign that daisy loves gatsby and this shows that tom does not relize it and she and gatsby use this to communicate between each other.

why does gatsby object ot letting tom drive his car
it is the sign that trouble is near and this will affect the characters in the future
what has increased toms hatred of gatsby
he is a snob and daisy is going to live with a cheater in life and also live with a materialisc man
what is nicks attitude toward gatsby
he thinks this is all him and he is really mad but he does not relize that daisy was the one driving and the one that killed myrtle
How does nick react when he realizes gatsby innocence
he goes back onto his side and continues to worship him.

it shows the aimless wandering of these pleasure seeking crowds, and that all rules have been replaced by casual whims. This referene also reveals a specific facet of Gatsby’s charecter. he is a man who simply provides for others; he can be taken advantage of. this is a foreshadowing of the way he later sacrifices himself for daisy.
2) why is jordan baker described as looking contempuous?
she looks down on this party just as she had seemed contemptuous at the buchanans. this detachment may be part of her attractiveness to nick, who has had a knack- at the beginning- of remainning uninvolved and aloof.
3) what is the significance of the ” owl eyed” man?
he is tied in with the enormous pair of glasses in the sign. just as the sign seems to represent and all knowing godlike figure, so this man, checking the books in the library, seems to be the only one who understands that gatsby has depth. later he is the only one of gatsby’s guests to attend the funeral.
